Nobody arrives in the trench empty-handed. You are carrying what was handed to you. This exercise makes that inheritance visible so you can choose what you pass on.

1 · Who shaped you?Name three to five people. Coaches, teachers, family, a neighbor, a boss. Not only the good ones.2 · What did each of them give you?A belief about yourself. A skill. A fear. A standard. A voice you still hear.3 · What did some of it cost you?Formation is not only inheritance. Some of what you carry was handed to you without consent.4 · What are you keeping?Name the parts you would choose again on purpose.5 · What ends with you?The pattern you are unwilling to hand to the next person.6 · Who is watching you right now?Name them. Then decide what you want them to be able to say about you in twenty years.7 · One thing you will do this weekSmall, specific, and about presence rather than performance.
